Eindhoven opens first Solar Park

It is the first non-profit solar park in the Netherlands. The 228 solar panels are mounted on the roof of community centre Blimxems in Blixembosch.

Residents of the Blixembosch and surrounding neighbourhoods bought one or more solar panels, producing their own renewable energy this way.

The local energy company, Morgen Groene Energie (Green Energy Tomorrow), initiated the project. The City of Eindhoven provided the community centre.

This afternoon, the solar park is going to be opened officially by alderman Joost Helms.
