Record proceeds of 11,000 euros for New Year’s Run

The New Year’s Run in the ‘Genneperparken’ (Gennep parks) has raised a record amount for charity. Last Sunday the runners raised 11,000 euro in all.

Over 1,600 runners participated in the eighth edition of the running event and they ran distances of 2, 5, 8 or 14 kilometers. This year all entry fees and voluntary contributions will go to two sports clubs for the disabled.

E-hockey club GP Bulls and wheelchair basketball club Achilles Flames may divide the money between them. The organization has already set a date for next year’s run: on 4 January 2015 the starting signal for the New Year’s Run will sound again.
