Rob van Gijzel has again been appointed mayor of Eindhoven. By royal decree of 13 December 2013, he was appointed for a period of another six years.
City council had already nominated mayor Van Gijzel for a reappointment as mayor of Eindhoven last year, which was announced on Tuesday 1 October, after a closed meeting. In his acceptance speech, Van Gijzel said that Eindhoven should again be the city of ‘hope, light and a future with attention to people who are less fortunate’ in the next few years.
Van Gijzel’s next term of office starts on 7 April 2014.
