TU/e ice dome builders ready to go to Finland

They are completely ready for it. A team of about 50 will leave coming Sunday for Finland to build the largest ice dome ever.

Thirty meters wide and ten meters high, that should be the size of the dome. The management of the project is in the hands of a group of students and teachers of the TU Eindhoven.

All the materials have arrived in Finland already, waiting for the builders to start with the dome. For example Jorrit Hijl of the TU/e; he is hoping the temperature on location in Finland will drop a few degrees more. "Now it’s actually still too warm, but we are in close contact with the local population over there and they say all will turn out well. The weather can change very quickly so it’s just wait and see what is going to happen."
