‘Kromo’ and Heemskerk through at 100 metres freestyle heats

Today at the swimming World Cup in Barcelona Ranomi Kromowidjojo reached the semi-finals in the 100 m freestyle.The Olympic champion qualified for series with a time of 54.12 and placed fifth. Femke Heemskerk also reached the semi final battle. She ended up with 54.21 and shared sixth place. The Australian Cate Campbell swam her best time ever with 53.24.It was Kromowidjojo’s first solo swim in this World Cup. On Sunday, she led the relay team to the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle.
