Police uses wheel clamp for outstanding fines

People with an outstanding traffic fine are running the risk of getting a wheel clamp on their car.

The clamp is a new tool in Eindhoven police’s battle against outstanding traffic fines.Normally, when police officers set off to collect outstanding amounts, a person will get the opportunity to pay the fine on the spot. If that is not possible, their vehicle is confiscated and towed away. In that case, a wheel clamp is a lot cheaper and less time consuming.Collecting outstanding traffic fines is not the only issue on the police’s agenda the coming weeks. People with outstanding custodial penalties, will be immediately arrested to serve their sentence.
