Eindhoven Marathon changes roadmap after Boston bombing

The organization of Marathon Eindhoven is going to adjust their roadmap following the Boston attacks, marathon director Edgar de Veer told Studio040.

Safety has been an important part of the marathon preparations for a long time. Following the Boston bombings, the organization has re-evaluated the roadmap.A new chapter will be added to the roadmap, according to De Veer. This chapter will include an evacuation plan of the finish area in case of emergency and a care coordination program for potential victims.It is practically impossible to keep some madman from striking at such a major event as a marathon, says De Veer.
