Man robbed and kicked into canal

Two men on a scooter robbed a cyclist on Saturday evening and then kicked him into the canal.

The man was cycling along Kanaaldijk-Zuid when two men on a scooter forced him to stop. They demanded and got money from their victim. They then kicked him so hard that he and his bike fell into the icy water. The culprits then made off. After calling for help for ten minutes, the man was rescued by two passing students. A security guard from the university who also arrived at the scene took the man to where he could have a hot shower.Not much is known about the culprits. The two men were aged about 26 with light brown complexions. Both wore dark clothes and one of them was wearing a cap. Despite conducting a search, the police failed to find them.
