Less weapons intercepted at Eindhoven Airport

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee took possession of 120 weapons at Eindhoven Airport last year.

In 2011, that number was little over 200, mainly mêlée weapons. Firearms were hardly found. The weapons were taken from passengers’ carry-on and checked luggage. A Marechaussee spokesperson thinks preventive frisking at the airport has contributed to the decrease. The number of souvenir and replica weapons has increased. Source: Marechausseevereniging
