Book collection about Russian art donated to Van Abbe

EINDHOVEN – The Nijmegen collectors Albert Lemmens and Serge Stommels donated a collection of more than 13,500 titles to the Van Abbe Museum’s library.

Lemmens and Stommels’ collection – the LS collection – covers the history of Russian art inside as well as outside Russia and the Soviet Union and includes art books, children’s books, graphics and magazines. Part of the collection consists of books and magazines designed and/or illustrated by the artists El Lissitzky (1890 – 1941) and Ilja Kabakov (1933).
