Young Eindhoven artists and designers get dream place

EINDHOVEN – A dream place, that is what the Atelierdorp artists and designers in Eindhoven call the empty NRE building they are moving to. The huge building on the Nachtegaallaan offers room to nearly thirty recently graduated students from the Design Academy.

For a while, it seemed that the creative people would end up on the street, because the lease expired on their building at the Vonderweg. But Stichting Ruimte (Foundation Space) offered a solution and came up with the huge empty NRE building. This week, they are moving into the thousands of square meters building. There will also be an exhibition area where the public can discover the designs and artworks. For now, Atelierdorp will be able to stay in the NRE building for at least one year.
