Mitsubishi sells NedCar to VDL for one Euro

EINDHOVEN – The Japanese VDL Groep has announced that Mitsubishi sold NedCar to VDL in Born for the symbolic amount of 1 euro. The Eindhoven VDL confirms this deal.

With this sale a new company has been created: VDL NedCar. All 1500 employees of NedCar may remain in service there in the factory where the German BMW’s Mini is produced.The new company is likely to be operational late 2014. According to the Union FNV Abvakabo, the staff will be paid by NedCar until that time.The unions submit the signed agreement they have with VDL on Thursday for all employees. The deal will probably be truly finalized in a few weeks.
