Due to the corona crisis, Summa College is not organizing an open day, as usual, this year. Instead, prospective students can find out all about the studies of the Eindhoven mbo institute online throughout the week.
Normally, the college buildings of Summa see huge numbers of prospective students looking for their new studies. But not this year. Only a few teachers and students are walking around. They show their study offer online. By means of all kinds of vlogs, webinars, trial lessons, and question-answer sessions, Summa still wants to show prospective students what they can expect from the school.
“In this way, we try to introduce students to all kinds of studies,” says chemistry teacher Bas van Rijen. “We show samples and people can ask questions to us, to the teachers and students. Still, it takes some getting used to, to this new form. “It’s a lot less personal”, says student Anne-Floor Maas. “But we’ve tried to get the best possible picture of what future students can expect from us,” adds Van Rijen.
