‘Going to miss it’

“I already know that I am going to miss this work and everyone involved. For me, however, it is now time for the next step”, Meijer says.

Meijer has been Fontys’ figurehead for many years. In 2014 she was elected ‘Top Woman of the Year’ in the Eindhoven Brainport region. The jury was won over by ‘her drive and convincing, connecting, and inspiring leadership style’.

According to Fontys, Meijer has ensured that the transformation of the institution of higher professional education. It has changed from a broad quality university of applied sciences to a leading, innovative knowledge institute in the South of the Netherlands.

The Supervisory Board will shortly start looking for Meijer’s successor.
