Ruxup, the application for backpackers made by Fontys’ students

Ruxup is a web application targeting backpackers and travelers. By entering their destination and the period of time for their journey, users can find friends for travelling together. Moreover, users can create their own events as well and let others join their events. In that way, they can go for an excursion or adventure together.

The ruxup team is made up of five Software students from Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Eindhoven. Initially, ruxup started as a 4th year school project. The team has already finished a first prototype and is expected to release the beta version in May 2017. It is nominated as one of the finalists of ICTalent awards at Fontys, which will place on 18th of May 2017.

According to its inventors, “Ruxup is a concept to help backpackers, adventurers, explorers and travelers who are willing to see the impact of travelling and backpacking through real human connections. Connecting with different people from diverse backgrounds and getting familiar with a new culture, lifestyle and language has an amazing impact in your personal life”.

More details on the project can be found on www.ruxup.com or on Instagram @ruxup.
