The Ouderen Appèl is asking the city council to take action on behalf of so-called economically disadvantaged homeless families. The party is calling on the council to join an initiative by the four major cities, which are urgently asking the House of Representatives to develop a policy for this group.
The party is concerned about economically homeless families without a permanent place to live, often due to financial problems or divorce, but who are not entitled to shelter. In written questions to the council, the Ouderen Appèl wants to know, among other things, how many families in Eindhoven are in this situation and what policy the municipality is pursuing to help them.
Ouderen Appèl also calls for closer cooperation with the four major cities, as long as national regulations are not in place. “Are you willing to get in touch so that the five major municipalities apply the same criteria?” asks council member Niek Rennenberg.
