Two local businesses, ASML and Dela, have started a Christmas campaign for children of needy families.

The Veldhoven chip machine manufacturer and the Eindhoven funeral home want to collect at least 800 gifts. People can buy a child’s gift and donate it. They can bring it to the reception of Dela’s head office, on Oude Stadsgracht in Eindhoven.

The gifts are placed under a large Christmas tree. Before Christmas, the presents will be distributed to Food Bank clients in the region. “There are already quite a few gifts under the tree”, a Dela spokesperson says.

Zonnebloem Actief is also taking part in the campaign. This is a foundation for disabled people. This group wants to show that people with disabilities can make a meaningful contribution to society.
