Traffic regulating measures to be taken

Measures are being taken to slow down traffic on Floraplein in Stratum. Thresholds will be placed around the two-lane roundabout and rattle strips will cause cars to vibrate.

Cyclists feel unsafe on the roundabout, the Eindhoven Municipality writes. Research has shown that an irregular crossing is an ideal solution for Floraplein, but this is too expensive. For this reason, the most suitable alternative was examined.

The Fietsersbond (General Dutch Cyclists’ Union) would like to see the roundabout go back to having only one lane. However, according to the City Council, this does not contribute to Eindhoven’s accessibility.

When?

The measures will be put in place in the first half of 2020. This will be done at the same time as the work on the adjacent Leenderweg, which is already planned.
