A passerby has found a body this afternoon along the train track in Tongelre. What happened was unclear.

What was unusual is that all trains that have driven on the route had been checked, and no traces of a collision were found. What makes the case even more unusual is that the body was not found intact. But it also does not have the injuries that can be expected in a collision with a train. That is why a crime is taken into account. Other scenarios are also being investigated.

A passer-by told the police on Monday afternoon when he ‘saw something lying’ next to the train track. The technical investigation department cordoned off the area and carried out a crime scene investigation. The on-site investigation has since been completed.

Addendum: After further investigation, the police determined this to be a suicide. No further details will, therefore, be released or articles published.
