De Ontdekfabriek (The Discovery Factory) has been in existence for ten years. Children have been coming to craft with technology for a decade. It is a bit shortly said, but that is exactly what the intention is.

“Ten years ago there was a huge need for more technical people,” says co-founder Hugo Vrijdag. ‘That is still true, but you see a shift towards sustainability. So we also respond to that. If you want to change something in society, you have to start stimulating children and getting them excited. So that they hold that as students and as adults. ”

Anniversary
Although De Ontdekfabriek naturally adapts to the times. For ten years, children of all ages have had the opportunity to create, discover and create things here. Even after a decade, those are still the starting points.

But it is not only fun, it is also important, thinks De Ontdekfabriek. “Because it’s important that people can make things.”

That starts with making cars or alarm systems. Or everything that arises from curiosity and creativity.
