The Museum Bevrijdende Vleugels (Wings of Liberation Museum) in Best has received a €100,000 subsidy from the North Brabant Province for renovations.

The museum wants to develop its grounds into a theme park in the near future. The park’s theme will focus on World War II and the idea of freedom. The museum itself will also have a more modern look.

Bevrijdende Vleugels tells the story of the liberation of the Southern Netherlands at the end of World War II. The museum is located on the site in the area where Allied air landings took place during Operation Market Garden on 17 September 1944. With the renewal, the museum expects to attract 5000 extra visitors per year over the next four years.
