Marines left for Bahamas assistance

76 marines departed from Eindhoven Air Base to the Caribbean on Saturday to provide emergency relief to the Bahamas.

On Saturday afternoon, the soldiers flew from Eindhoven in a KDC-10 transport aircraft from the Royal Netherlands Air Force to Sint Maarten. There they board the ships Zr. Ms Johan de Witt and Sr. Ms Snellius used to provide emergency assistance.

A total of five hundred and fifty Dutch soldiers will be present to help the people in the Bahamas. In addition to the fifty French and German soldiers who are already aboard the Zr. Ms Johan de Witt.
