Green party concerned about nature around Eindhoven Airport

GroenLinks (the green political party) is seriously concerned about whether Eindhoven Airport has the necessary environmental protection permits. They question whether the airport management has this in order.

These permits are required as there are such high nitrogen emissions by aircraft. High levels of nitrogen are harmful to the surrounding nature. Considering the growth of Eindhoven Airport by 11,000 flights in 2014 to 37,000 in 2018, the impact on the environment is a concern according to GroenLinks. Several studies have measured and shown this impact in and around Eindhoven.

If Eindhoven Airport does not have a permit, GroenLinks states that it is necessary for the airport to apply for one as quickly as possible. The coalition party has asked the Eindhoven city council questions about this issue.
