Blind spot stickers on buses in South East Brabant

In South East Brabant, all city and regional buses have been given a blind spot sticker.

The sticker indicates to cyclists where they are riding safely and visibly. That is right behind the bus, at a distance of at least three meters. Then, among others, students remain out of the ‘blind spot’, the corner where bus drivers don’t see the cyclists.

The campaign includes support from the province, the municipality of Eindhoven and bus company Hermes. With this the parties hope to reduce the number of accidents. According to Deputy Bergsma, the most important lesson for cyclists is: “If you see the bus driver, he will see you too.”

In Brabant, 150 people were killed in traffic last year.
