Fish died massively in a pond at the Park in Nuenen due to a lack of oxygen.

Normally the water should have an oxygen content of one hundred percent, but in this pond it is only thirteen percent. As a result, around ten dead fish are being added every hour, but the municipality of Nuenen has not taken any action for four weeks. The fountain cannot provide enough oxygen due to the heavy rainfall.

Local residents have therefore taken matters into their own hands. With landing nets they remove the dead fish and they have also made plans to save the living fish. They only have to wait for permission from the municipality to clear out the pond.
