PSV players nominated for top award

PSV players, Maxi Romero and Mauro Júnior, have been nominated by the Italian sports newspaper, Tuttosport, for the Golden Boy award. This is a prize for the best u/21 European player.

Romero and Junior’s selections can be called remarkable. Romero has not managed to make his mark on PSV in his 18 months at the club. Since his arrival at the Eindhoven club, the Argentinian has often had to deal with injuries and has mainly made up his minutes with Jong PSV. Júnior has also made up most of his minutes in the Dutch First Division since Mark van Bommel’s appointment.

Donyell Malen is a striking absentee in the list of 100 talents. Malen made his breakthrough at PSV this year. He has the minutes needed in both the Champions and Premier Leagues. Malen scored for ten goals and four assists in the Premier League.
