Last night’s storm caused a lot of damage in the Eindhoven region.

In Eindhoven, the same happened in the neighbourhood of Woensel-West. On Edisonstraat, a tree fell on the street. On Josef Israelstraat a big tree fell against an apartment complex. The exact damage is still unknown.

Geldrop was hit in several places. A tree fell against a shed on Ziggenstraat. And on Laan der vier Heemskinderen, firefighters had to saw up a tree and then remove it from the road.

On Olmenhof, the fire brigade also had to get to work. Here two trees fell on each other, then against a house and on top of a car. On Papenvoort, a tree also fell against a school. The area is cordoned off so that the children can go safely to school.

An events tent at the ‘Stadswandelpark’ suffered too. The Bourgondisch Eindhoven event is to be held there on the weekend. According to the organisers, the damage can be repaired in time.

The Dutch national weather forecasting service, KNMI, announced a code orange in advance. Around Eindhoven, wind speeds of over 90km/h were measured.
