Fallen trees disrupt train service around Eindhoven

There are trees on the tracks due to yesterday’s heavy storm. This disrupted train traffic around Eindhoven.

There were no trains between Eindhoven and Helmond and Eindhoven and Weert this morning. In both cases, trees had fallen on the track.

Earlier today, a train collided with a fallen tree in Heeze. The impact also caused significant damage to the overhead contact line. To resolve this incident, the fire brigade, as well Prorail were sent out to help. An ambulance was also at the accident site. One of the train’s passengers was treated for a long time in the ambulance, but the extent of her injuries are unknown. She did not have to go to the hospital.

Between Helmond and Eindhoven, the usual timetable was resumed again at around 09:30. Between Eindhoven and Weert, this was at around 10:30.
