Self-driving robot carts are now in operation at the new Brainport Industries Campus as part of an experiment.

The trial, backed by Brainport Industries, TU/e, Erasmus University, Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and KMWE among others, is aimed at increasing productivity and cost savings.

The campus is home to dozens of innovative manufacturing companies, including suppliers for ASML and Philips. “By optimising automation and planning, faster delivery times and higher productivity can be achieved by using fewer logistical resources and investments”, said program manager Erik Vermeulen.

Other robotics are also being used for experiments in a test environment with the goal of improving production logistics and logistical planning
