However, Eindhoven came out tops again with the most speedsters. It is followed by Tilburg and Den Bosch. Eindhoven has the most speedsters the previous year too. In 2017, close to 131,000 speeding fines were issued in the city.

In 2018, this dropped by more than 3,000 tickets to 127,622. This number of tickets amounts to EUR7 million. In Tilburg, 79,352 tickets were given out, with only slightly fewer – 78,292 – in Den Bosch.

Millions of euros in fines

In 2018, more than half a million – 531,164 – speeding fines were issued in the province as a whole. Although this is well over 40,000 fewer than in 2017, it still amounts to more than EUR30 million in fines.

Over the past few weeks, regional media outlet, Omroep Brabant ran an Unsafe Traffic Reporting Centre. Of all the reports, 77% were about a dangerous situation in the built-up areas. Of these, 52% of the people reported that these situations were as a result of speeding cars.
