An airbag on the outside of a car? Indeed; and this may have well saved a young boy from more severe injuries yesterday
The 12-year-old boy was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a car. The accident occurred on Winston Churchilllaan in Woensel North. The boy was struck, but, fortunately, his fall was broken. This was thanks to an external airbag on the car. It opened during the collision.
The boy, who was crossing the street with his friend, was taken to the hospital. The police could not say how extensive his injuries were. However, according to reports, they were mostly scrapes and bruises.
