The Royal Air Force will join Eindhoven Airport, regional firefighters, police, and municipal authorities for a large emergency response exercise close to the airport next month.

The organisations involved will practice the so-called Crisis Management Plan, which tests their ability to handle emergency situations as well as monitoring professionalism and cooperation.

The scenario will involve a crashed passenger jet, with aircraft wreckage at the practice site. Some 500 actors and other professionals will participate.

A similar exercise was held in 2011.
