Curtain falls on 40Up Festival

The 40Up Summer Festival on Strijp-S in Eindhoven has come to an end. This was announced by the organisers.

The reason for the decision is poor finances. “We had to spend extra money on every edition. Whether it be because of rain or too few tickets being sold.” The sales tax increase was the last straw. The organisers refuse to pass that on to the visitor. “It was an extra motivation to stop.”

In recent years, the festival drew thousands of visitors to Strijp-S. The festival was aimed at the slightly older visitor, with many acts that were popular in the 1970s and 1980s. Among others, Boney M, SNAP, and Sugarhill Gang took to the stage.
