ASML is heading for an annual turnover of almost EUR 11 billion this year. That is the expectation of the Veldhoven computer chip machine manufacturer.

The innovative concern made that forecast known during the presentation of its third-quarter figures. And those figures are beautiful, ASML writes. Net sales amounted to almost EUR 2.8 billion.

After 2016 and 2017, 2018 will become another record year for the company. Last year, the turnover counter stopped at more than EUR 9 billion.

For 2019 all signals are on green for the computer chip machine manufacturer. There is a large and growing worldwide demand for chips for smartphones, computers, and navigation systems. Many of those chips are produced using ASML machines.

The order book is thus quite full for the coming year. Five EUV-machines have been ordered. These are machines that work with ultraviolet light. This technology makes it possible to work even faster and to produce highly tailored chips. The technology is in full swing, and the latest EUVs cost EUR 200 million each.

Due to ASML’s aggressive growth, between 200 and 400 people are employed each month. The company recently announced that a new milestone of 12,000 employees in Veldhoven had been reached.
