New PSV shirt inspired by ‘Ronaldo shirt’ from 1994

New PSV shirt inspired by 'Ronaldo shirt' from 1994

The new PSV home kit  for next season is known. The shirt is inspired by the football shirt in which the Brazilian Ronaldo had his breakthrough at the Eindhoven club in 1994.

New to the shirt compared to recent years is the order of the strips. The designers of PSV and Umbro have chosen to include a white strip in the middle of the shirt and, in contrast to previous years, to not make the sleeves completely red, but to apply red and white strips.

The back of the shirt has a red square on which the back number and player name is displayed, while the strips continue at the bottom. The pants are traditionally black and the socks white, with red accents.

Designer at Umbro Bryony Coates: “Every season, it’s a challenge to give the home kit something fresh without changing the red-white of PSV. This year we try that with a white strip in the middle of the tenue and partially continuous strips on the back. The shirt radiates PSV values, has a stronger historical origin, but is both fresh, contemporary and unique. ”

Starting July 1st, the new home kit will be available in shops.
