Eleven people detained for 'minor offences' during Koningsdag

Emergency services have described Koninsdag in Eindhoven as quiet. Eleven people were arrested for offences such as taking drugs, brawling or for being verbal abusive.

The Eindhoven City Council appointed city guards this year to control the issue of under-age drinking. They issued 60 on-the-spot fines for this, of which seven were to kids under the age of 16.

The council intends to continue with the use of city guards to control people’s behaviour.

Besides the eleven detainees, there were 14 cases of ID-fraud. Ambulance personnel were required to assist 10 people, of which the most had fallen or were feeling unwell. The first aid stations had a quiet day and the fire department reported no incidents.
