TU/e’s new racing car for formula student competition

The University Racing Team (URE) has developed URE12- electrically powered car.

A team of 50 TU/e-students took a year to design a brand new car for formula student competition. This competition will host around 600 teams from all over the world.

Self-built cars will race in the competition, points will be given based on the creative designs and smart safety features.

The framework of the car is made out of carbon fiber reinforced plastics to make it light weighted one. Each electrical engine in the car can produce up to 30 kilowatts.

A system that is specifically built combines ABS and traction control for better grip on the car.
