Citizens’ initiative for safer Boschdijk

Citizens' initiative for safer Boschdijk

There is a citizens’ initiative launched for a safer Boschdijk. Local residents believe that pedestrians and cyclists cannot safely cross streets. For example, they advocate remodeling of the road by applying a central dividing strip.

In order to apply the citizens’ initiative, 250 signatures are required. Initiator Bernice Kamphuis started the initiative after she herself was almost hit on the Bosschdijk. The woman from Eindhoven decided this is unacceptable and received much acclaim from her neighbors. She also started a facebook page.

In recent days, a group of local residents spread flyers around for the citizens’ initiative. In addition to the central dividing strip and safer crosswalks, the initiative also advocates for reducing the number of lanes to one in each direction between the Marconiplein and Pastoor Peterstraat

Local residents have until April 2 to sign the citizens’ initiative and can deliver them at seven points around the Boschdijk.
