VVD also concerned about Floraplein

The Eindhoven-based VVD (people’s party for freedom and democracy) is concerned about the redesign of the Floraplein (Flora square). The party council has raised questions about the flow and air quality around the roundabout in Stratum.

Earlier this week the political party Brede Beweging Linksom (BBL, broad movement to the left) already had critical questions about the plans of the college. BBL regrets that there is only one traffic light on one side and that the Fietsersbond (Federation of Cyclists) is not involved with the redesign.

The VVD wants the traffic lights to be placed on the north side to work properly. Both local residents and the party are afraid that if this does not happen there will be traffic jams. In addition the party finds that the college should investigate the air quality.

Two tons are reserved for the adjustments of the Floraplein. VVD member Monique List-de-Rose would like to know if the college is willing to allocate more money if the current design turns out to be more expensive and what kind of alternatives it has in mind.

Above all the redesign of the Floraplein should make the roundabout safer.
