Attempt to blow up ATM machine at Albert Heijn supermarket in Nuenen

There was an attempt to blow up the cash machine of ING bank in Albert Heijn supermarket at  Parkstraat in Nuenen. The perpetrators fled the scene without any money.

At about 02:30 the robbers broke through the shopfront and subsequently entered the store. They connected gas cylinders to a cash machine and then blew it up.

Because ING bank is aware of this kind of robbery, they have exchanged the cash machines for types with a stronger safe in recent times. The result was that the thieves left the supermarket in Nuenen empty handed.

There were damages to the shop and the cash machine. Some windows were shattered and light fittings came down from the ceiling.
