Qualcomm takeover of Eindhoven’s chipmaker NXP

American firm Qualcomm wants to take over Eindhoven Company NXP. Talks have been held according to the Wall street Journal. An amount of 30 billion is tied to the deal.

Both Qualcomm and NXP make computer chips. Whereas Qualcomm focuses on chips used in mobile gadgets especially phones, NXP makes a wider range of chips, but especially chips used in the car industry.

It is said that the talks are in the later stages, with a deal expected in a couple of months.
