No more dangerous trains on route Eindhoven-Venlo

Trains filled with poison should not run on the Eindhoven-Venlo route anymore. The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment will take action. A spokesman for Secretary of State Sharon Dijksma said.

Unrest has arisen, after reports late last month, about the amount of hazardous substances that are transported on the route. There are six types of dangerous goods and five of these species may not be transported between Eindhoven and Venlo.

Turned out they did run according to figures from the NIS. Questions were asked in the House and the answer is that the trains should not run there and that now action is taken.

Coalition parties PvdA (labour) and D66 (Democrats) and opposition parties CDA and LPF also asked for clarification. The four Eindhoven groups find it irresponsible that so many trains with dangerous goods run through densely populated area.
