Twenty months in jail after collision

A 24 – year-old man from Weert is punished with twenty months in jail after he ran down a pedestrian on the sidewalk in Eindhoven. The man from Weert was driving without a license, and according to witnesses, he had consumed alcohol as well. The court in Den Bosch ruled that the accident was like attempted homicide, so reports the Brabant Omproep (news telecast from Brabant).

The man hit a pedestrian, last year, near the Clock Building. The pedestrian was just walking on the sidewalk. The man then fled with his car.

The man was driving without a license after two earlier traffic incidents. He was still in his trial period. He already received prison sentences, which he should partly serve as well.
