The Eindhoven Blue Collar Hotel will be showcasing the consumption of insects. This weekend, January 15, 16 and 17, Delicious Bugs, a group of five students of the Fontys Hogeschool has organized a large insect event.
During the three-day event, an exclusive six-course ‘tasting menu’ will be served with insects as the main ingredient. The overall goal of this event is to create consciousness amongst the guests about future food scarcity.
Experts in the field of geographical changes predict that the world population will be so large in a number of years, that shortages in food supply will occur. Especially meat and fish will become short in supply and prices will soar. The most obvious solution, according to the students, would be to eat insects.
