New urgency regulations for househunters

A new urgency system for allocation of living space is set to be implemented in nine southeast Brabant municipalities, including Eindhoven, Geldrop-Mierlo, Nuenen, and Helmond.

The new scheme will be ”fairer, clearer, faster, easier, and more transparent", according to local authorities and housing associations.

An independent panel will review rental properties currently available in the region in an effort to improve alignment of supply and demand.

The new system will take effect from January 1st, 2016.
