Number of first-year students at TU/e still growing

The number of first-year students at Eindhoven University of Technology continues to grow, despite the elimination of scholarships.

More than half the growth is made up of international students, the ED (Eindhovense Dagblad/Eindhoven newspaper) reports.

The total number of first-year students increased by 10%, from 1,747 to 1,927. Of these, 172 were foreign students compared to 94 last year.

Overall, the TU/e’s student population grew from 9,203 to 10,121 within a year – an increase of 31%. This includes Master programmes and bridging programmes for HBO (hoger beroepsonderwijs/higher professional education) students.
