Children’s author Simon van der Geest reads second Groot Augdictee

Children’s writer Simon van der Geest wrote the second edition of the Groot Augdictee, a dictation competition for all group 8 students in the region.

De Wentelwick primary school in Nuenen was the winner of a draw involving seventeen local schools and will welcome Simon on October 14th to read the dictation.

Organised by the Augustinanium school, the competition is part of Kinderboekenweek (children’s books week). Twenty schools took part in the first edition last year, written and read by Mel Wallis de Vries. Roderick de Vries from De Kameleon primary school won that competition.

This year’s final will take place on Thursday, November 12th at the Augistinanium. Simon from der Geest will read again to the 26 finalists. The theme of Kinderboekenweek 2015 is ‘Raar maar waar’ (strange but true), focusing on nature, science, and technology.
