New youth mental health centre opens

A new mental health treatment centre for young people opened its doors on the Stratumsedijk on Tuesday.

Private institute Apanta-jong will offer help with a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and behavioural issues. Troubled youths in the area will also benefit from shorter waiting times, as Apanta guarantees patients an appointment with qualified, specialised staff within fourteen days.

In a bid to maintain lines of communication with local young people, Apanta will work with student psychologists and counsellors from Eindhoven’s TU/e, Fontys, and Summa College. The team is also looking to work with other key community figures such as family doctors, schools, and neighbourhood teams.
