Eindhoven designer to work for IKEA

IIKEA has commissioned Eindhoven’s Piet Hein Eek to develop new products.

Eek will design collections for each of the Swedish multinational’s divisions – furniture, lamps, vases, cutlery, and other utensils – to be marketed worldwide. Eek told NCRQ it was a great opportunity for him, adding that "I can now demonstrate my way of thinking on the world’s biggest platform".

48- year-old Eek was known 25 years ago for his reclaimed wood cabinets, following his graduation from Eindhoven’s Design Academy.
