Bus connection to International School urgently needed

A bus connection to Eindhoven’s International School must be implemented as soon as possible, according to council groups PvdA (labour party), GroenLinks (green Left), and Brede Beweging Linksom (left).

The three parties have asked the council to pay €5,900 – a third of the annual budget – towards a €17,500 custom solution. The money is expected to come from the proceeds of last year’s parking fee increases. One each of the remaining two-thirds will be paid by the school and local business community.

Earlier plans had been for a regular service to and from the school, however costs were ultimately deemed too high. Council representatives ruled out the possibility of using Hermes for a customised solution. School officials want to emphasise the importance of the ISE for Eindhoven’s Brainport, and have been meeting with parents and the local council since 2013 in hopes of resolving the lack of bus connection.
